Fitted with its own rechargable long-life battery the Grabba is suitable for heavy workloads without adverse impact upon the battery life of the host Pocket PC powered PDA. The PDA and the Grabba may be left attached while battery charging of both units takes place.

Advanced Linear Barcode Scanner Technology:
The Grabba Advanced Linear Imaging Barcode Scanner uses an Intermec scan engine with built-in Intermec hardware decoding. Intermec hardware decoding improves readability of poorly printed and damaged barcodes, as well as an increased number of supported symbologies. With no moving parts the Linear Imaging scanners are impressively durable and reliable, yet incredibly fast and powerful operating with a scan speed of 200 scans per second in full darkness to bright sunlight conditions. And with Intermec’s ‘laser-free’ Active Pixel Sensor technology, it means that they are totally safe.

ISO standard track format cards can be read with both the Grabba Keyboard Wedge and SDKs, while proprietary encoded track format cards can be read with the Grabba SDKs.

The Grabba Contact Smartcard reader uses a high quality GemAlto smartcard interface, compatible with synchronous memory cards and asynchronous microcontroller cards supporting both read and write applications.
Grabba Contact Smartcard devices open opportunities for developers of health, security, identity, permission based applications and more, through free Grabba SDKs. A Grabba PC/SC compliant IFD handler is also available for Windows Mobile, allowing developers to leverage existing PC/SC applications to easily integrate with Grabba Contact Smartcard devices.
