Mobile Fingerprint Scanner for Blackberry, Ipaq, Palm and MorePradonet USA and it’s strategic Partner Grabba today announced today the addition of a New Fingerprint  Module to it’s mobile identification handheld product suite.

The addition of a optical fingerprint scanner to the Grabba product line will allow clients to be able to extract and match fingerprint images from the device.

The Grabba Fingerprint attachment combine seamlessly with PDAs and Smartphones including Blackberry, Palm and HP creating a powerful enterprise tool. Fitted with its own rechargeable, long-life battery a Grabba is suitable for heavy workloads without adverse impact upon the battery life of the PDA or Smartphone.

Sophisticated battery management technology allows the PDA or Smartphone to be left attached while battery charging of both units takes place, ensuring battery life is maximised.

The S-Series Grabbas feature Pass-through Sync Mode which allows the PDA or Smartphone to be connected to a computer (e.g., to create an ActiveSync connection), while still housed in the Grabba attachment, using the standard mini-USB connector in the Grabba.

Guidelines Issued for Mobile Biometric ID Devices

One of the “next big things” are the new mobile biometric devices that allow first responders, police, the military and criminal justice organizations to collect biometric data with a handheld device on a street corner or in a remote area. These devices then wirelessly send it to be compared to other samples on watch lists and databases in near real-time. Identities can be determined quickly without having to take a subject to a central facility to collect his or her biometrics, which is not always possible.
